We are your orchestra

The NZSO performs for all of Aotearoa New Zealand. 2020 has been a challenging year for New Zealand’s arts sector. As we all work together to protect New Zealand during the pandemic, your national symphony orchestra will be there. With more momentum than ever before, we look towards the future and see ourselves celebrating the music of New Zealand with you – and we need your support.

Who are we?

The NZSO is your national symphony orchestra. We’ve been performing for Aotearoa New Zealand since 1946 and continue to provide exciting and inspiring musical experiences for Kiwis of all ages with the support of the NZSO Foundation. We are proud of what we achieve with your support.

When the NZSO tours New Zealand, we play to over 100,000 people across the country. Thousands more enjoy NZSO’s work through our recently launched ENGAGE@Home digital channel, as well as RNZ Concert’s broadcasts and recordings. We also nurture New Zealand’s best young musical talent through the NZSO National Youth Orchestra and our Learning, Connecting & Engaging programmes.

When you give $100: you can send 10 children, along with their teacher, to attend an exceptional NZSO concert free of charge.

When you give $300: you help the orchestra to host school-groups for a unique behind-the-scenes experience at an NZSO open rehearsal.
